Rachel has the mind of a teenage girl but the body of a chimpanzee. After her human scientist father dies, she is captured and taken to a primate research facility, where she is caged and studied with no recognition of the human soul inside her. Rachel longs to be understood, but as she struggles to navigate both the chimp and the human worlds, she must decide who she really is and who she wants to be.
