Summary
Conceived by David Byrne and directed by the Ross Brothers, Contemporary Color is an impressionistic concert film that celebrates the little-known world of high school color guard. Ten of the country’s elite color guard teams – the flag-flipping, sequin-studded creme de la creme of the ‘sport of the arts’ – sync steps with musical luminaries for a bacchanalia of beats, sabre-spinning, and glitter cannons.

Rolling Stone: ‘Contemporary Color’ Review: It’s the ‘Stop Making Sense’ of Color Guard Rock Docs
“This may be one of the few rockumentaries since Stop Making Sense to tap the cinematic potential of sound and vision in a way that feels genuinely collaborative and borderline transcendental.” – David Fear
